A personal licence is required for anyone working in licensed premises whose job role includes authorising the retail sale of alcohol. The application is made to the local council in whose area the applicant lives. An application must also be made for a Criminal Records Bureau Basic Declaration. This is sometimes called a CRB check. Once you have gained your APLH (formerly NCPLH) qualification we can make a personal licence application on your behalf.

A Personal Licence Application is a formal submission made by an individual seeking authorization to sell or supply alcohol in England and Wales.
This application process involves providing essential personal details, including identity verification, relevant qualifications such as a recognized licensing qualification (e.g., Personal Licence Holder qualification), disclosure of any criminal convictions, and payment of the requisite fee.
The application must adhere to specific guidelines set out by the Licensing Act 2003, ensuring that the applicant understands their responsibilities and obligations concerning the sale of alcohol. Once approved, the Personal Licence enables the holder to oversee the sale or supply of alcohol on licensed premises, acting as a designated supervisor responsible for upholding legal requirements and promoting the responsible consumption of alcohol within the community.
Our Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders course is accredited by Highfield. After finishing the course you will be well equipped to sit for an examination with Highfield Qualifications. Once you pass the exam, you will receive an Ofqual Regulated Certificate, also known as a Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) certificate.
